    Celebrate MetroParks of Butler County's 70th Anniversary and explore the natural world by learning 70 species in a year, broken into smaller groups of 10. Discover plants, birds, insects, reptiles, amphibians and more, keeping learning fun and manageable. Dive in, stay curious, and connect with nature one species at a time. Look for ID 70 in upcoming programming. Are you more the independent study type? Look for the MPX ID 70 project in iNaturalist.

  • Flashlight Egg Hunt - Rentschler Forest

    THIS EGG HUNT IS SOLD OUT. REGISTRATION IS CLOSED. Bring your own flashlight and we'll take care of the eggs. Reserve your start time to access our eggs-clusive egg hunt. Eggs-perts who find enough eggs can trade them in for a treat. Egg hunt timeslot options start at 8:00 PM, with the final hunt starting ten minutes before the program closes. Need more eggs-citement? Visit with animal ambassadors to learn about eggs in nature. Ready for an eggs-tra challenge? Head out on the trail to spot even more eggs-quisite eggs. Participants must be 12 years of age or under.

  • Fairfield Wildflower Walk

    Nature's in bloom, with flowers, trees, and shrubs all trying their best to attract pollinators. Hike with us to find the best spots for this seasonal display! This program is part of the ID 70 challenge.

  • Orienteering for Eggs

    April 13, 2025 11:00am - 1:00pm

    Adventure with a map! Get a detailed map to locate a series of control points shown on the map. Suitable for all ages, compete for the fastest time, or just enjoy a leisurely hike. Each event offers five different courses of varying difficulty and length. Egg orienteering is designed for young children. At each checkpoint collect eggs, then select a prize upon finishing the course. Cost is $4/child ($10 family maximum). No cost for accompanying adults. Older children and adults may complete the more difficult course. Cost is $10/person. Multiple courses at no additional charge. Registration is required at www.ocin.org/home.php

  • Spring Open House in the Village

    April 19, 2025 1:00pm - 3:00pm

    Step back in time to the early 1800s as you take a self-guided walk through the Pioneer Village. A few of the cabins will be open to explore, with educators on site in historic dress to help with activities and answer any questions.
