MetroParks of Butler County, in partnership with Cohen Recycling, is pleased to announce its annual FREE holiday light and Christmas tree recycling program, offering both Butler County residents and non-residents a convenient, eco-friendly way to dispose of holiday waste this season. The recycling program will run from December 1, 2024 - February 1, 2025.

Holiday Light Recycling
Thanks to MetroParks’ collaboration with Cohen Recycling, the public can drop unwanted or non-working holiday lights at four park locations. This initiative not only keeps non-biodegradable waste out of landfills but also helps recover valuable materials, as holiday lights contain recyclable components such as copper and plastic that can be repurposed.

Christmas Tree Recycling
The Christmas tree recycling program enables participants to recycle their natural Christmas trees at the same holiday light drop-off locations. All trees collected will be chipped and repurposed as mulch for park trails and natural resources projects, promoting sustainability and reducing waste. Christmas trees should be free of all decorations, lights, and tinsel.

How to Participate and Drop-Off Locations
Participants can bring their holiday lights and Christmas trees to the following MetroParks:

• Voice of America MetroPark – 7850 VOA Park Dr., West Chester, OH 45069
• Rentschler Forest MetroPark – 5701 Reigart Rd., Hamilton, OH 45011
• Timberman Ridge MetroPark – 1976 Timberman Rd., Hamilton, OH 45013
• Meadow Ridge MetroPark – 5101 Circle Pkwy., Middletown, OH 45042
