Natural Areas & Chill Hill
At the entrance of Voice of America MetroPark is a 65-foot hill that, in the winter, is known as Chill Hill! This fantastic venue is available for sledding from 8 a.m. to Dusk daily (weather & snow permitting). Bring your snow gear, sled and have a blast! This hill is also a perfect spring, summer, and fall exercise climb.
Much of Voice of America MetroParks' acreage remains grassland and is managed as a natural area with the exception of the Athletic Complex. These areas provide the perfect opportunity to explore a natural prairie habitat, which is home to many wildlife species, including a significant gathering of birds. Bird watchers delight in visiting this portion of the park, designated as an "Important Birding Area" by Audubon Ohio. In one of the areas near the lake, there is also an observation deck overlooking the grasslands and lake.
