Chrisholm Metropark

The 17-acre historic Chrisholm MetroPark was donated to MetroParks of Butler County by Cincinnati Gas & Electric and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places The Amish-Mennonite farmstead includes the historic Augspurger House, the Rosemont Barn, a Nature Playscape and a picnic shelter. 

The Augspurger House was the home of Samuel Augspurger and his family and was built in 1874. The Augspurgers were the leading members of the Amish-Mennonite community in Madison Township. A large bank barn was also preserved and restored and currently houses goats, chickens, donkeys, and a rabbit. The park's restoration efforts are supported by the Friends of Chrisholm. 

The first floor of the Augspurger House is wheelchair accessible.

Chrisholm MetroParks is open during regular park hours. The Augspurger House is only accessible during scheduled events. Tours of the home are offered FREE of charge by the Friends of Chrisholm every third Sunday of the Month from April to October. Click here for more information about upcoming open house dates.
