Youths ages 10-17 are invited to participate in MetroParks' controlled bowhunting program in 2024-2025. 

Youth Bowhunting Application Information:
- An application must be submitted online by 8/28/24 at 11:59 p.m. 
- A $20, non-refundable fee must be paid at the time of application.

Youth Bowhunting Qualification Information:
- Youth must complete the same qualification test as adult bowhunters.
- To qualify, an applicant must place four out of five arrows into an 8 1/2 x 11-inch target from a distance of 20 yards. 
- Qualifications are on 8/31/24, from 8:00 - 11:00 a.m. The qualification location will be sent to applicants. 
- Youth must provide proof of youth hunting license and hunter education course or apprenticeship license at the time of qualification. 

Youth Bowhunting Lottery and Hunting Information:
- A youth lottery will be held for all applicants. The lottery will determine the location and the month of assigned hunting opportunities.
- Youth hunters must be accompanied by a non-hunting adult at least 21 years of age at all times. 
- The adult accompanying the youth hunter must have at least three years of experience hunting deer with a bow and have proof of hunter education course. The accompanying adult is responsible for the safety of the youth hunter and their actions in the field. 
- All other rules of MetroParks' Adult Bowhunting Program apply to the youth hunt apart from the exceptions listed here.
